Green (Esmeralda) Hydrangea

Green (Esmeralda) Hydrangea is a premium hydrangea variety recognized for its rich, saturated green tone and large, rounded bloom. Unlike lighter green varieties, Esmeralda offers a deeper, more substantial color presence, making it suitable as both a focal and structural flower.

Each stem features a generous, full flower head that provides volume, texture, and strong visual grounding in bouquets, centerpieces, ceremony décor, and large-scale installations. Its natural green hue works seamlessly with white roses, ranunculus, lisianthus, delphinium, eucalyptus, and layered greenery, making it ideal for organic, garden-style, and modern event palettes.

Sold in bulk for florists, wedding designers, and DIY projects, Green (Esmeralda) Hydrangea delivers dependable size, structure, and professional-grade consistency.

Hydrangeas perform best in water-based arrangements. Use in floral foam carries a higher risk of premature wilting.

CARE AND PREPARATION – HYDRANGEAS
DIY Bulk Flower Guide

Hydrangeas are highly sensitive flowers and require proper cutting and deep hydration to prevent premature wilting. Please follow these steps carefully upon receiving your flowers:

  1. Unpack immediately. Remove the flowers from the box as soon as they arrive. Hydrangeas are often shipped in small water bags, capsules, or humid wrapping.
  2. Remove hydration packaging. Carefully remove any water bags, capsules, or wet paper before handling further.
  3. Re-cut the stems properly. Cut approximately 1–2 inches off the stems at a large angle using sharp shears or a knife. A wider cut surface allows the stem to absorb more water.
  4. Use warm water for initial hydration. Immediately place the freshly cut stems into a tall container filled with warm water to encourage drinking.
  5. Allow deep hydration. Leave hydrangeas undisturbed in warm water in a cool area for several hours before arranging.
  6. Keep water levels high. Hydrangeas are heavy drinkers and must always sit in a generous amount of water.
  7. Hydrangeas perform best in water. These flowers do best when kept directly in water. Using them in floral foam (oasis) always carries a risk of premature wilting, as foam may not supply sufficient hydration.
  8. Reviving wilted hydrangeas. If blooms appear wilted the next day, remove the stems from the vase and fully submerge the entire stem and bloom in a sink or container filled with water. Allow them to soak for approximately one hour, then re-cut the stems and place them back into a tall vase filled with fresh water. In many cases, this will restore firmness.
  9. Understand limitations. If hydrangeas have been wilted for an extended period, recovery may not be possible, even with full submersion.
  10. Store properly. Keep in a cool environment, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and drafts.
