Bring soft texture and modern elegance to your floral designs with Kochia, a unique greenery known for its fine, feathery branching and silvery-grey foliage. Often used as a filler in floral design, Kochia adds airy volume, subtle contrast, and a natural, contemporary look to arrangements.

Originally a hardy ornamental plant, Kochia is valued in floral work for its delicate structure and soft, cloud-like appearance. Its light texture allows it to blend seamlessly into arrangements while still adding depth and movement, making it a favorite among florists for both minimalist and full designs.

Perfect for bouquets, wedding centerpieces, and large-scale event installations, Kochia works beautifully alongside roses, gypsophila, ranunculus, and other seasonal flowers. Its neutral tone complements a wide range of color palettes, from soft romantic tones to bold, modern designs.

Kochia can be used both fresh or dried, maintaining its shape and texture over time. Sold in bulk, it is ideal for DIY projects and professional floral work, allowing you to create full, textured arrangements efficiently and affordably.

CARE AND PREPARATION – KOCHIA
DIY Bulk Flower Guide

Kochia is a soft, textural foliage that requires standard preparation with minimal cleaning. Please follow these steps carefully upon receiving your stems:

  1. Unpack immediately. Remove the stems from the box as soon as they arrive.
  2. Remove outer packaging. Take off all outer packaging and protective sleeves.
  3. Minimal cleaning required. Kochia stems are relatively short, so only remove foliage that would sit directly below the water line. Avoid removing more than necessary to preserve volume.
  4. Prepare clean water. Fill a clean bucket or vase with fresh water. Add floral food and stir until fully dissolved.
  5. Trim the stems. Cut approximately 1–2 inches off the stems at an angle using sharp floral shears or a sharp knife.
  6. Use shallow water levels. Kochia does best with only a few inches of water in the container. Using too much water can submerge and damage the foliage unnecessarily.
  7. Hydrate properly. Place stems into water and keep them in a cool area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
  8. Handle gently. Kochia is soft and full, so handle carefully to maintain its shape and texture.
  9. Daily care. Change the water regularly and re-cut stems as needed to maintain freshness.
