Add light texture and natural movement to your floral designs with Lepidium (Thlaspi), a delicate greenery known for its airy stems and soft green coin-shaped foliage.

Commonly used as a filler in floral design, Lepidium brings subtle volume, fresh color, and an organic, garden-style look to arrangements without overpowering focal flowers.

Originally valued as a decorative botanical, Lepidium (also called Thlaspi or pennycress) is appreciated for its fine branching structure and unique seed-like discs that create a soft, textured effect. Its light and flexible stems allow it to blend effortlessly into both minimalist and lush arrangements, adding depth and dimension.

Perfect for bouquets, wedding centerpieces, floral arches, and large-scale installations, Lepidium pairs beautifully with roses, ranunculus, tulips, lilies, and seasonal blooms. Its fresh green tone complements a wide range of palettes, from soft romantic neutrals to vibrant, colorful designs.

Lepidium can be used fresh or dried, maintaining its structure and visual interest over time. Available in bulk (1 to 15 bunches), it is ideal for DIY projects, event planners, and professional florists looking to create full, airy, and textured arrangements efficiently.

CARE AND PREPARATION – LEPIDIUM (THLASPI)
DIY Bulk Flower Guide

Lepidium (Thlaspi) is a delicate, airy filler that requires standard preparation and gentle handling. Please follow these steps carefully upon receiving your flowers:

  1. Unpack immediately. Remove the flowers from the box as soon as they arrive.
  2. Remove outer packaging. Take off all outer packaging and protective sleeves.
  3. Minimal cleaning required. Lepidium typically has little to no lower foliage, so minimal cleaning is needed before placing in water.
  4. Gently loosen the bunch. Before placing in water, carefully separate and fluff the stems to restore volume and allow for better airflow.
  5. Prepare clean water. Fill a clean bucket or vase with fresh water. Add floral food and stir until fully dissolved.
  6. Trim the stems. Cut approximately 1–2 inches off the stems at an angle using sharp floral shears or a sharp knife.
  7. Hydrate properly. Place stems immediately into water and keep them in a cool area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
  8. Natural shedding may occur. As Lepidium opens, it is normal for the small seed-like elements to shed slightly. This is a natural characteristic and not a quality issue.
  9. Daily care. Change the water regularly and re-cut stems as needed to maintain freshness.
